About our Campaign

A congregation gathered inside a church during a service, with some standing and others sitting, all holding hymnals or prayer books. The church interior is decorated with a large chandelier, a central altar with religious symbols, and high windows allowing natural light to fill the space.

Primary Goals

The campaign will fund essential structural and HVAC repairs to preserve our historic campus, achieve financial stability by ending reliance on the Dayspring Fund, and strengthen our mission by investing in ministries that build community and extend God’s kingdom in the world.

  • Repair and improve our sacred spaces: Our historic building needs critical, structural repairs to ensure that it remains safe for use for generations to come. In addition, our heating and cooling systems for the campus have reached the end of their lives and must be replaced.

  • Achieve financial stability: As a parish we are determined to eliminate our reliance on the Dayspring Fund for annual operating expenses.

  • Build the Kingdom of God: We desire to use our resources to become an increasingly outward-facing community that reflects the values set forth in our mission statement and meets the needs of our time. We also will continue to nurture and strengthen our parish community and ministries.

Building the Kingdom: In Focus

After making needed repairs to our facilities and balancing the budget, we plan to use STEADFAST funds for kingdom building in the following ways:

  • Advancing The Falls Church as a Center for Lived Faith: We will lead the community in what it means to be a follower of Christ in the modern world and make The Falls Church a destination for faithful engagement and reflection. We will sponsor and convene high-profile conversations, forums, and events that invite diverse voices to shape a message that builds the Kingdom of God, equipping progressive Christians to live faith out loud in a rapidly changing and often hostile world.

  • Responding to urgent community needs: We will expand the Temporary Relief of Unexpected Emergencies (TRUE) fund, our church’s direct response tool, to care for individuals and families in moments of financial distress.

  • Advancing racial justice: We will fund professional efforts to continue the Comprehensive Racial Audit, working to identify The Falls Church’s role in racial injustice from the colonial and ante-bellum periods, through Reconstruction and Jim Crowe to the present day, with prayerful discernment of our response to the parish’s legacy around race.
